We went on an amazing trip to Ypres in Belgium to kickstart our World War 1 project.  We stayed in a youth hostel at the Menin Gate.  We attended the Last Post at the Menin gate which is held at 8 p.m every day.  It was a wonderful experience and enabled us to remember those who lost their lives in WW1.  We visited British and German war graves and went into a trench to experience the lives of the soldiers.  At the Flanders Museum, we learnt about weapons, war horses, nurses and soldiers.  It was a great trip and we are now producing work in class based on our experience.
