Swallows Class Reception and Year 1

Welcome tSwallows Class

We are a mixed Reception and Year 1 class.  The class teachers are Mrs Glazier and Mrs Ford and our teaching assistants are Mrs Petrou and Miss Burt .  We enjoy learning and exploring both our inside and outside environment.  We take full advantage of our beautiful surroundings and engage in outside learning whatever the weather.  We follow the EYFS curriculum for the Reception aged children and the national curriculum for the Year 1 children.

Spring 2024 Topic Page

Welcome to Term 1 2023/2024.  The children have all settled in beautifully to school life and are enjoying learning about our new topic 'All About Me'.  We have set up a school role-play area so children can explore playing at school independently.  We have picked our school apples ready to make into delicious apple crumble!

Fun and learning in the classroom

Welcome to term 1!  This term the children have decided that they would like to learn about superheroes!  We are going to begin by learning all about how super we are and then explore how different people around us are super too.

We are so happy to be welcoming our new reception children and the year 1 children are being amazing role models.

Christmas Fun!

Welcome to Term 3!

This term we are going to be going on 'Journey's Around The World'.  We will visit the Antarctic and experience the climate there, enjoying our book 'Blue Penguin'.  This is a lovely tale all about the sweet little Blue Penguin who is lonely. The story follows Blue Penguin and his quest to find a friend. At first poor Blue Penguin is lonely and starts to sing a song, hoping to be taken away from his lonely home. His journey ends in happiness when he finds a friend.
