Kestrels Class Year 5 and 6

Welcome to Kestrels Class!

We are a mixed age class of Year 5 and 6 children. The class teachers are Mrs Loughman (Monday and Tuesday) and Mrs Banfield (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.)The learning support assistants are Mrs Brinklow and Mrs CTempleman. Our classroom is situated on the top floor of our Victorian building. We are very proud of our engaging and beautiful environment and enjoy bringing our home learning into school to share with our teachers and friends. We love learning and our curriculum is creative and exciting. We always try our best and work hard to be the best that we can be. Being the older members of the school means we take on more responsibilities around the school. Year 5 have been trained to be play leaders and this year there will also be a group of Wellbeing Ambassadors. Our Year 6 pupils are buddies to the reception children; helping them at lunch times, weekly shared buddy reading and generally being someone their buddy can turn to if they need help. Each term a group of four Year 6 get to be 'Learning Monitors' and chose pupils who have been displaying any of our four learning powers and they present them in our Golden Worship on a Friday, and have a section of the newsletter dedictated to their nominations.
